MaJiKer's new album ‘The House of Bones’, mainly recorded in Iceland, was inspired by ghost stories, old haunted house movies, Norse mythology and Scandinavian folk music.

The album expands MaJiKer's instrumentation beyond the strict template laid down with his 2009 debut album ‘Body-Piano-Machine’ to include harmonium, viola da gamba, marimba and a 150-year-old Dulcitone, creating a mysterious atmosphere with a sense of tension that runs right through the recording.

Talking Heads legend David Byrne selected tracks from 'The House Of Bones' for his website’s playlist and described MaJiKer’s music as "stubbornly and beautifully on the edges". Film auteur Ken Russell, interviewing Ker for a feature piece in the Sunday Times, found his music to be "modern, unusual, unique, abstract and compelling".

MaJiKer has achieved widespread acclaim for his internationally successful collaborations, including his production work with Camille on her albums 'Le Fil' (2005) and 'Music Hole' (2008). He also acted as musical director of Camille's touring band and has remixed work by artists as diverse as Fever Ray, Ane Brun, Nico Muhly and Jenny Wilson.
